Vivo Y21 5G Launched with 6000mAh Battery | Price, Specifications, Features
Vivo has officially expanded its Y-series lineup in India with the debut of the Vivo Y21 5G. Following its official unveiling on March 25, the device is now hitting shelves across the country, positioning itself as a leader in the budget 5G segment by prioritizing extreme battery life and rugged build quality.
The Vivo Y21 5G is designed for “endurance-driven” users, featuring several industry-firsts for its price bracket, including a specialized BlueVolt battery and SGS-certified drop resistance.
Power That Defies Standards
The headline feature is the massive 6000mAh battery. In an era where 5000mAh has become the ceiling for most brands, Vivo’s new high-density battery technology allows for a slimmer profile without sacrificing capacity.
-
Performance: The company claims up to 29.8 hours of continuous video playback.
-
Longevity: Vivo is offering a 5-Year Battery Health guarantee, promising that the unit will retain over 80% capacity even after 1,600 charge cycles.
-
Charging: The device supports 44W FlashCharge, capable of a 1% to 100% top-up in approximately 73 minutes.
Built for the Real World
Moving beyond internal specs, Vivo has focused heavily on “Military-Grade” durability. The Y21 5G features an IP65 rating, protecting it against heavy rain and dust. Internally, an “AirSpring” cushioning structure and a die-cast aluminum frame provide SGS 5-Star Drop Resistance, making it one of the few non-ruggedized phones designed to survive high-impact falls on hard surfaces.
Display and Core Performance
The front of the device houses a 6.74-inch HD+ LCD with a fluid 120Hz refresh rate. To tackle outdoor visibility, the “Sunlight Display” reaches a peak brightness of 1200 nits. It also carries the TÜV Rheinland Low Blue Light Certification to reduce eye strain during extended use.
Under the hood, the Y21 5G is powered by the MediaTek Dimensity 6300 (6nm) chipset, paired with up to 8GB of LPDDR4X RAM and 128GB of UFS 2.2 storage (expandable up to 2TB). It debuts with OriginOS 6 based on Android 16, introducing AI-centric features like “Circle to Search” and “AI Photo Enhance.”
Camera and Connectivity
For optics, the phone utilizes a 50MP Ultra-Clear Main Camera supported by an auxiliary lens and a 5MP front-facing sensor. Connectivity is future-proofed with support for 14 5G bands, Bluetooth 5.4, and dual-band Wi-Fi.
Pricing and Availability
The Vivo Y21 5G is available in two elegant finishes: Champagne Gold and Midnight Blue.
